After seeing that Jimmy Dean finally manged to steal my " meat on a stick " idea out of my head, I decided to look up just how far " the leak " had gotten and was both delighted and shocked to see this Taco Pop recipe, shocked because I cannot believe I did not think of it! Or maybe I did? Hold, on a second, my tin foil hat is slipping off....ha ha ha!
Here is the recipe, and a little cooking music to go with, I propose this will be the main course this Cinco de Mayo, only a few short weeks away!
Ingredients:
Pillsbury dough
Ground beef or pork
Taco seasoning packets
scallions
white onion
cilantro
garlic
for dipping : pico, sour cream, guacamole, or queso
for garnish: lime and cilantro
don't forget the lolipop sticks !
Instructions :
Very easy, all you do is scoop a tablespoon of above mixture, which is pretty much a basic taco filling recipe into a triangle of the Pillsbury dough, while its laid out as if you were making regular cooking dough.
So what your finished balls will look like is this:
Once they have cooked for about 3 minutes, go ahead and add the lolipop sticks.
